In treatments that should have a limited duration for pharmacotherapeutic reasons, the duration should be stated with the dosing scheme. Examples are strong topical steroids, or nose drops with decongestants. 

The fact that we can write a formula for a compound from the valences of the constituent atoms does not mean the compound must exist. We can write AgOH for the compound silver hydroxide, but no compound of this definite composition has yet been isolated. Conversely, many compounds exist whose formulas cannot be deduced by this scheme examples are benzene, CgHe, and carbon suboxide, C Oa. 

The most frequent use is the insertion of a, p-unsaturated compounds, in particular enones, into a Cu-R bond of cuprates, more commonly considered a 1,4 addition of cuprates on a, p-unsaturated derivatives (above scheme, example below). 

Sulphoxides have proved to be very useful functional groups in organic synthesis, especially since they are capable of stabilizing anions, rearrange readily, and may be easily eliminated at the end of a synthetic scheme. Examples of these facets of behaviour are to be found in Scheme 26. 

For each of these bases, discounted or nondiscounted techniques may be considered. The nondiscounted techniques do not take into account the time value of money and are not recommended for evaluating new, large projects. Traditionally, however, such methods have been and are still used to evaluate smaller projects, such as process improvement schemes. Examples of both types of methods are presented for all the three bases.

The dynamic equation of motion can be solved by numerical integration. The numerical integration calls for temporal discretization (i.e., system of coupled equations is discretized temporally), hence the term solution in time domain. The dynamic equation is solved by a time-stepping scheme. Examples of time-stepping schemes include Wilson s theta (0) algorithm (Clough and Penzien 1993) and several variations of the Newmark s p algorithms (Newmark 1959).
