A career in discovery research can bring a variety of personal satisfactions and corporate successes, which complement the salary, benefits, and publication opportunities that the work entails. Some of these achievements come to chemists employed in or out of the pharmaceutical industry, while others are peculiar to medicinal chemistry. Even veteran chemists take pleasure in applying a known reaction or synthetic method to the preparation of new com-poimds. To conceive a novel synthesis or invent a new reaction is gratifying [Pg.177]

Overall, the interdisciplinary WDKA seminars have been successful in the five years since their introduction at UWG.
