Saddle weights

Available in plastic, lower pressure drop and HTU values, higher flooding limits than Raschig rings or Bert saddles. Very low unit weight, low side thrust. [Pg.86]

Data shown applies to Intalox Saddle made either from chemical stoneware or chemical porcelain. Weights per cubic foot are based on chemical porcelain. Chemical stoneware Intalox Saddles will weigh approximately 5% less. [Pg.251]

The saddles must be designed to withstand the load imposed by the weight of the vessel and contents. They are constructed of bricks or concrete, or are fabricated from steel plate. The contact angle should not be less than 120°, and will not normally be greater than 150°. Wear plates are often welded to the shell wall to reinforce the wall over the area of contact with the saddle. [Pg.847]

Costs for vessel (January, 1990—Including nozzles, manholes, and saddle or skirt but no special internals such as trays or agitators) as dollars per pound of weight of fabricated unit f.o.b. with carbon steel as the cost basis = 80O ) 0-34 where W is the total weight in pounds (applicable in Wv range of 800 lb to 100,000 lb). [Pg.542]

To account for the extra weight due to nozzles, manholes, and skirts or saddles, increase the weight calculated for the smooth vessel including top and bottom by 1.5% for vessels to be installed in a horizontal position and by 20% for vessels to be installed in a vertical position. [Pg.542]

Total weight including 15 percent increase (see Table 6 of Chap. 14) for nozzles, manholes, and saddles = (22,800 + 6,840X1.15) = 34,100 lb. [Pg.732]
