SABRE method

SABRE Method. Acronym for Simulated Approach to Bayesian Reliability Evaluation. An advanced approach to designing a reliability test program developed at PicArsn, the objective of which was to design a test program of minimum sample size for artillery fired atomic projectiles. Called the SABRE method, the program uses mathematical modeling, Monte Carlo simulation techniques, and Bayesian statistics. It is a sophisticated system devised to test items that cannot be tested because of their atomic nature. The aim is to determine the risk factor and to predict what will happen when the projectile is fired... 

Before any person enters the MTF or alternate MTF, proof of decontamination must be present. Individuals may be monitored for vapor contamination by correctly using an electronic CAM of the point variety type (CAM, ICAM, APD 2000, and Sabre are examples). M256A1 kits, MSA, or Dragger Bubbler kits could be used, but these would consume an extraordinary amount of effort, as well as time waiting for results. Remember that the above mentioned point monitors must be held within a very few centimeters, but not touching the area to be examined, for a period of up to 30 s. Always consult the monitor s instraction manual for specifics. The presence of liquid or solid contamination can be detected with the use of M256A1 kits, M8 paper, or M9 paper, although electronic CAMs are preferred. SABRE resins are easily fabricated on conventional plastic processing equipment using established plastics industry techniques. Parts fabricated from SABRE resins are also readily finished or decorated by a variety of conventional methods (painting, hot stamping, vacuum metallizing, and plating). 

SABRE engineering resins have been easily fabricated on conventional injection molding equipment. The following table provides a summary of the fabricating methods that have either been used or might possibly be used to process SABRE resins in the futru e (see Table 3). 

Both before and after SABRE resins are processed, the fabricating eqiiipment must be thoroughly purged. An effective method of pTxrging is to use an appropriate piu-ge material for the resin previously run.
