Stripe rust

Uses as fungicide for control of powdery mildews, rusts in cereals and Rhynchosporium in cereals and control of bunt, smuts, Typhula spp., seedling blight, leaf stripe, net blotch, and other cereal diseases when used for seed treatment, etc. 

Streak strek [ME streke, fr. OE strica akin to OHGr strich line, L striga row] (before 12c) n. A discoloration (rust, oil, dye, grease, soap, etc.) extended as an irregular stripe in the cloth. 

The barley crop can be affected by a large nrrmber of seed-borne diseases such as leaf stripe, Fusarium, smuts arrd snow rot. FoUar diseases can also be prevalent in both winter and spring barley, such as Rhynchosporium, rrrildew, brown rust, net blotch and Ramularia. The mosaic viruses (barley yellow mosaic vims (BaYMV) and barley rrrild mosaic virus (BaMMV)) have become a problem where winter barley has been grown too frequently. Control is only by rotation and use of resistant varieties.
