Rubber matting

Ballast mats, raw material of degrading regenerated rubber The raw material of regenerated rubber Products of molding and extrusion, rubber mats, soft pipes for irrigating, vases, modihed asphalt for paving Used in renewal of tire (under 20 p.m, 30 phr)... [Pg.1046]

Generally it is better (and safer) to cool the liquid in thermometer than it is to heat it. First, try to cool the thermometer with a (table) salt-and-ice slush bath. This method should bring the liquid into the contraction chamber or bulb. Once the liquid is in the chamber or bulb, it should rejoin, leaving the air bubble on top. If there is not a clean separation of the air bubble, it may be necessary to softly tap the end of the thermometer. This tapping should be done on a soft surface such as a rubber mat, stopper, or even a pad of paper. Alternatively, you may try swinging the thermometer in an arc (such as a nurse does before placing it in your mouth)." Once joined, the liquid in the thermometer can slowly be reheated. [Pg.159]

Place the transducer in degassed water in a container, the walls of which are lined with sound absorbing rubber mats. [Pg.177]

This article reviews the new family of elastomers from Milliken Chemical, which offer excellent antimicrobial properties thanks to the use of a new patented biocide. The background is covered and related to important areas where microorganisms can be dangerous and where antimicrobial products are important, e g. in the food and drinks industry, liquid soap, beauty products, health care products, trauma devices, catheters or rubber mats. Milliken Chemical... [Pg.35]

Sandbag vehicle flooring. When possible, place a heavy rubber mat over sandbags to reduce secondary fragments such as shrapnel, sand, stones and pieces of sandbag,... [Pg.12]

In principle, there are two ways to form a new surface (1) increasing the surface area by adding new atoms from the bulk and (2) stretching the already existing surface (as if it were a rubber mat) with the number of atoms fixed and thereby... [Pg.275]

Carpet Original floor coverings were durable rubber mats. Once the closed cars were developed, other materials were evaluated for use. Initially natural fiber matting was used, but as synthetic materials came onto the market, they replaced the natural materials. This started in the 1950s with tufted rayon [9]. Soon rayon was replaced by nylon, a particularly durable plastic that has remained the material of choice in modem automotive carpet systems. [Pg.736]

Severe corrosion of reinforced concrete bridge substructures in the splash zone in Florida coastal condition. has led to work on systems for use in those conditions only by Florida DoT. Several clamp on systems have been on trial including conductive rubber mats with zinc metal and wood or recycled plastic clamps with zinc or titanium mesh. The sea vater ensures a good electrical (ionic) connection to the concrete. The systems work from low tide level, or below, up to the top of the splash zone. Some have been in operation for several years. A system using tape and plates to secure the titanium mesh anode has also been experimented with in Australia, along with a scre v on plate (Figure 6.17). [Pg.146]

Offset Transfer of an image from a plate to a secondary surface, often a rubber mat, that reverses it before final printing. [Pg.1135]

Noise levels should be checked and the equipment perhaps placed on a rubber mat if standing on a hard reflective floor. [Pg.208]

If it is not possible to switch off the power, then push or pull the person away from the conductor using an object made from a good insulator, such as a wooden chair or broom. Remember to stand on dry insulating material, for example, a wooden pallet, rubber mat or wooden box. If these precautions are not taken, then the rescuer will also be electrocuted... [Pg.240]
