Roller clamps

There are three basic types of intravenous administration 1) primary set 2) secondary set and 3) a volume control set (Fig. The basic components of all these sets include a piercing spike (to insert into the bag or bottle), drip chamber and drip orifice, tubing ranging in length from 160 to 250 cm (63-98.58 in.), a roller clamp or other flow control device on the tubing.

The nurse clamps the roller clamp on the tubing attached to the IV solution. 

The spike is used to connect the system to an infusion bag (or a bottle). The drip chamber is used in combination with the roller clamp to control the flow rate. The drip chambers of the administration systems are equipped with 15 pm filters which ensure particle removal. The system is connected to an access point (e.g. venous cannula) with a Luer fitting. Often access points are available to connect a second infusion.

While detail may be found in the ASTM D-3330 or PSTC-1 and PSTC-2 standards, the peel test is typically carried out as follows The tape is conditioned at 23°C and 50% relative humidity for 1 day. Next, the tape is rolled down with a weighted standard roller onto a clean test substrate (usually polished 302 stainless steel), allowed to dwell for a specified time (usually 1 min), and then clamped with the testing fixture in the test machine and peeled at a specified rate. 

An overhead roller is used on the first feed conveyor to ensure that constant pressure is applied to the rocket while it is being driven through the rotating tube cutter and the punch-and-drain station. This roller is located between the rotating tube cutter and the first clamp assembly of the punch-and-drain station. 

Expel the excess water with a photo roller. Place a second glass plate bearing the U-frame (for 0.5 mm distance) on top and clamp the cassette together. Cool this sandwich for 30 min in a refrigerator.

At the end of the experiment, flush the system thoroughly by pumping distilled water through all pump tubes for several minutes. After this has been done, release the clamps that hold the pump tubes and release the pump tubes from around the pump rollers. If the system is not to be used for an extended time, your instructor will advise you as to the proper procedure for emptying it. 

A metal-forming process used for production of hollow, rotationally symmetric sheet metal components. To produce a component with a given shape and thickness distribution, the sheet is clamped to a rotating rigid mandrel and formed by a roller tracing the shape of the mandrel at a fixed distance.
