Rendering sketches

The above is a sketch of the ammonium theory of Berzelius, which is beautifully consistent, if we once admit the existence of ammonium rendered, as it is, so probable by the phenomena of the amalgam, and by the isomorphism of the compounds of potash and those of ammonia + 1 eq. water. You must consider three things when you render your sketch. The first is the direction from which light shines on the object. For example, does it come from behind the object, from the front, or maybe from the left or right sides of the object (see Figure 5-25) Second, what is the intensity of light on a surface In other words, how bright is the light The third consideration is the type of surface...
