Relative humidities, equipment ambient

BENZOIC ACID. C HsCOOH. Alloys 3003 and 5154 were resistant to solid benzoic acid in laboratory tests under conditions of 100% relative humidity at ambient temperature. Aluminum alloy sublimating equipment, hoppers and piping have been used in the production of benzoic acid. See also Ref (I) p. 127, (2) p. 96, (3) p. 132, (7)p. 29. [Pg.613]

CALCIUM CHLORIDE. CaCU bH.O. In laboratory tests, solid calcium chloride caused moderate attack (- 6 mpy) of alloys 3003, 5154, and 6061 under conditions of 100% relative humidity at ambient temperature. Other laboratory tests show that aqueous solutions (up to 45%) caused mild attack at ambient temperature with pitting in evidence. The action of calcium chloride can be inhibited by the addition of sodium dichromate. Inhibited calcium chloride refrigeration brines have been commonly handled in aluminum alloy equipment. Alloy 356.0 valves have been used for handling calcium chloride solutions. See also Ref (1) p. 128, (2) p. 129, (3) pp. 23, 73. 240, (7) p. 47. [Pg.614]

POTASSIUM NITRATE. KNO,. All 3003 and 5154 were reristant to solid potassium nitrate in labo-ratoiy tests conducted at 100% relative humidity at ambient temperature. In sunilar tests conducted at 54 C (130 F), sdid potasrium nitrate was veiycOTio-sive to allc 3003 and 5154. Aluminum alloy equip-... [Pg.624]

SODIUM CHLORATE. NaCIO,. Alloy 3003 was resistant to solid sodium chlorate in laboratory tests conducted under conditions of 100%) relative humidity at ambient temperature. Sodium chlorate has been dried in aluminum alloy equipment and shipped in aluminum alloy tanks cars. See also Ref (7) pp. 164, 165. [Pg.626]

TANNIC ACID. 07 115204. Solid tannic acid caused mild attack (- 2 mpy) of alloys 3003 and 5154 in lab-oratoiy tests conducted under conditions of 100% relative humidity at ambient temperature. In other laboratory tests. 0.01% to 20% aqueous solutions caused mild attack ( — 2 mpy) of 1100 alk>y at ambient temperature and moderate attack (- 9 mpy) at 50 C (I22 F). These solutkms were corrosive at lOO C (212"F). Aluminum alloy processing equipment has been used in tanning plants. See also Ref (Dp. 145. (4)pp. 29, 30. (7)p. 181. [Pg.628]

Table IV. Alternative Equipment Arrangements for Various Seed Cotton Drying Requirements and Ambient Relative Humidities. Table IV. Alternative Equipment Arrangements for Various Seed Cotton Drying Requirements and Ambient Relative Humidities.
Drying of seed may be performed at room temperature with no additional equipment, or with hot-air dryer. The first stage of drying consists of the removal of external moisture from the fresh seeds. Internal water diffuses outward, evaporating in the external part of seeds. After a certain time, seeds reach a hygroscopic equilibrium state at which the moisture content remains constant. The equilibrium depends on ambient temperature and relative humidity of the surrounding air. Figure 15 is a representation of these values for different temperatures 10°C, 25°C, and 40°C [based on Mazza and Jayas (51)]. [Pg.1321]

Corona charging is very widely used due to its ability to charge a wide range of powders at fairly high throughput. This charging method is relatively insensitive to ambient humidity, plus the equipment is robust for a wide variety of manufacturing processes. [Pg.2408]

Multiple slides Normally it is sufficient to make only one oriented mount. However, depending on the number of personnel in the laboratory and the timing of access to XRD equipment, it may be efficient to make several slides of the same sample, with the different slides being processed and irradiated with different treatments (i.e., one slide heated, another slide glycolated, a third slide untreated). Let the slide(s) dry at room temperatnre. Many of the expandable lattice clays react rapidly to ambient humidity conditions, so if the laboratory normally experiences fluctuations in relative humidity, place the slide in a desiccator until irradiated. [Pg.166]

Most PMAs offer the user some flexibility in assigning inputs to the data acquisition channels this even extends to auxiliary equipment, e.g., dryers, and external signals, such as plant ambient temperature and relative humidity. Important inputs are ... [Pg.770]

For special applications, it is important to measure ambient conditions at the service location as functions of time and/or to determine maximum and minimum values. Of particular interest here are radiation, temperature, rain, and relative humidity. The exposure parameters in the rapid weathering equipment must be selected on the basis of the ambient conditions determined [195]. [Pg.1466]
