Transparency regulation

These regulations are based in part on the amount of solvents in relation to the amount of soHds. Most wood stains are low soHds materials which rely on their transparency and their abiHty to penetrate and dry fast. Those characteristics themselves put great emphasis on the type of solvents that are used to formulate stains. The low soHds content of wood stains limits the scope of solvent substitution or reformulation. [Pg.339]

Accountability and transparency have several aspects reporting to and control by supervisory bodies clarity and openness of procedures criteria for decision-making and decisions made and existence of systems for complaint and appeal. Accountability and transparency can be evaluated by examining, in particular reporting requirements, external reviews of the authority s performance frequency of publications and content of website (and other means of communication between the DRA, the public and the regulated parties) bodies to which complaints are directed and appeals procedures. However, the individual details of these elements of regulation make quantitative comparison difficult. [Pg.125]

Standards and guidelines should be established in written form for all dmg regulatory functions. These tools should then be used to guide regulation practice, as well as being made publicly available in order to ensure the transparency of the dmg regulatory process. [Pg.131]

Appropriate standards and guidelines should be developed and used as tools for the application of all regulatoiy processes. They should be freely available to all stakeholders, including the public, in order to increase the transparency of the DRA s operations. The same standard of regulation should be applied to all dmgs, whether they are imported and/or manufactured by the public or the private sector, and destined for domestic consumption or for export. [Pg.136]

To be accepted by the public and the operators, the implementation of the EEC regulation should be in clear accordance with the four principal objectives of this regulation protection of the consumer, fair competition, transparency in the marketplace and encouragement of organic farming. Standards for organic production must be simple and transparent. While the call for simplicity becomes more and more popular, authorities must still be convinced that this is the best approach. Member states should learn to accept that interpretation... [Pg.50]

However, an intrinsic physiological requirement for the cornea is the maintenance of its transparency, ensuring proper vision. This clarity as well as maintenance of the corneal shape (surface smoothness and total thickness) is critical to refraction. The unique transparency of corneal tissues is strongly dependent on their avascularity and a functionally intact endothelium, which are crucial for the maintenance of both stromal clarity and thickness by regulating corneal hydration. Macroscopically, the cornea is a transparent and avascular tissue... [Pg.285]

A third reason for interest in copolymers is crystallinity. Transparency and translucency are greatly affected by crystalline properties, which can be regulated by copolymerizatiOn. "... [Pg.325]

Under Directive 89/105/EEC relating to transparency of measures regulating the scope of national health insurance systems all measures introduced by national governments to control expenditure on medicines will have to be compatible with EU rules. [Pg.715]
