Regional case studies

In this section, we present summary results from several studies conducted at UC Davis on regional hydrogen infrastructure designs in different parts of the USA. These illustrate the diversity of possible solutions for hydrogen supply in the United States. [Pg.476]

10 However, investments for hydrogen to reach cost competitiveness with gasoline on a cents-per-kilometre basis are even lower. This happens in about 2018 when hydrogen costs about 6/kg, because H2 FCVs are about twice as efficient as gasoline cars. Required infrastructure costs are perhaps 1-2 billion. [Pg.476]

Rice straw is a regionally significant low-cost renewable biomass resource. [Pg.477]

Use spatial analysis, optimisation to design low-cost infrastructure for collecting rice straw, supplying hydrogen. [Pg.477]

Stakeholders should create a communications strategy on chemicals in the Asian region. Case studies from Europe in which lessons have been learned on chemicals policy may be very useful to Asian stakeholders. It should be noted that some Northeast Asian countries have developed and implemented a national pollutant release and transfer register (PRTR) system, which is considered an important initial step towards risk-based chemicals management. Meanwhile, policy champions should be identified to push the chemicals agenda within ASEAN, especially among businesses and small and medium enterprises (SMEs). [Pg.24]

This volume is written by scientists at the forefront of current developments of Floras and Faunas, along with specialists from applied user groups. The chapters review novel methods of research, development and dissemination, which aim to maximise the relevance and impact of data. Regional case studies are used to illustrate the outputs and impacts of taxonomic research. Integrated approaches are presented which have the capacity to accelerate the production of Floras and Faunas and to better serve the needs of a widening audience. [Pg.341]
