Figure 16.2 shows the normalized stock prices of Red Hat Linux and Microsoft, for one year, February 2001-2002. It s pretty easy to see the trends in the stocks, but what if we wanted to track other information in addition to these curves We might be interested in the daily volume of trading, and seemingly unrelated data like our own diastolic blood pressure during this period (to decide if it s really healthy to own these stocks). 

ColdFusion MX 6.1 is one example of a Web application server. Other examples are CGI and ASP.NET. These examples of server-side technologies are more secure because individual clients do not have any direct access to the code. Java libraries can be imported into Web pages by using ColdFusion. ColdFusion was created by Macromedia in 2003, and is supported by the operating systems Windows Server 2003, Red Hat Linux 8 and 9, and Solaris 9. ColdFusion s compiler can take Java hyte code and directly compile it into ColdFusion code, which speeds up the Web ps e interactions. 

In order to evaluate the capacity of MASER, we perform several experiments on a set of six numerical programs written in C. The experimental platform is SimpleScalar[13], which includes several powerful simulators. In our experiments, the concrete version of SimpleScalar is 3.0, which runs on Red Hat Linux 9. 

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 (Updates 3,4) and RHEL 5 (initial release) operating system. 

The operating system defines the backbone functional environment of each computer, and constitutes the envelope within which each user operates each software application on each piece of computer hardware. Examples of the operating systems used include Microsoft Windows (98, NT 4, 2000, 2000 Server, 2003 Server, and XP) and Linux (Red Hat and Slackware). 

Many simulations were implemented using a Cray SVl computer, with 32 processors, 16 GB RAM, 70 GB hard disk memories, 2.4 GHz, Unix operational system [LCCA 2003) and another computer (Onix - SMO) with 4 CPUs, 256 MB RAM and Linux Red Hat operational system (LASB 2003). 

The radar-sensor and subsequent components are implemented as SOA services in Java. For the demonstration, each service executed on its own computer system. To facilitate integration with the cyber sensor and actuator, the Radar-Sensor Service ran within VMware Workstation (the host operating system was Linux Centos 5, while the guest operating system alternated between Linux Centos 5 and FreeBSD). The other services executed on non-virtualized Linux Red Hat hosts, though in principle they could just as easily have been virtualized. 

A two-dimensional object-oriented finite element code (OOF2) version 2.0.3 [41], developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), USA, was installed in a Fedora Red Hat Core 4 Linux system. All finite element analyses were conducted on a Dell INSPIRON 8600 laptop with the dual boot system of Windows XP and Linux using 1.6 GHz processors and 2 GB of RAM.
