Reconfigurable logic

Method of rerouting Physical network reconfiguration Logical network reconfiguration... [Pg.1645]

The proposed safety analysis method is based on simulation of failures. Component models that only reflect normal operation have to be enhanced accordingly. At system level, control or reconfiguration logics have to be implemented that define how a system reacts to the occurrence of failures. The pursued modelling approach is structure invariant, i.e. the DAE structure (equation 1) remains always the same. Failures are represented by model parameter (values in matrices A, B) changes. [Pg.2020]

The reconfigurable logic used in this context is justified as follows (Melo, 2005) ... [Pg.209]

Minimizing Costs The development of new hardware to meet requirements of a new project or the demands of an old project involves costs that can be avoided by using reconfigurable logic. [Pg.209]

Speed of Operation To operate tasks in parallel, algorithms implemented with reconfigurable logic are t3 ically faster than the algorithms implemented with conventional logic (execution of one line of code at a time by a processor). [Pg.209]

Technological Domain Reconfigurable logic is presented as a solution for many practical engineering problems. This is justified by the effort to increase processing speed in the area of embedded electronics systems. [Pg.209]

On the physical level, the manufacturing and assembly systems have to be reconfigurable (RMS and RAS), and the factory with its technical infrastructure including building should be transformable (TRF). The logical level is necessary to operate a factory and calls for process planning systems able to react to changes in the... [Pg.160]
