1 Synthesis of Higher-Carbon Sugars by the Wittig-Type Methodology 

We have proposed the convenient methodology for the preparation of higher-carbon sugars (HCSs), containing more than 10-carbon atoms in the chain, already in the 1980s. That time, only limited examples of the preparation or isolation of such complex products were reported [39].
