Reality Is Different

Both men and women are interested in sex and participate in sexual activities in their 70s, 80s, and beyond. Studies have documented that sexual desire, interest, and activity may continue well into the ninth decade of life. 

While it is true that the frequency of sexual intercourse decreases with advancing years, cessation is most often the result of a decline in the physical health of one or both partners. A decrease in frequency is typically accompanied by an increase in embracing, cuddling, and holding as expressions of intimacy. 

Past sexual interest, enjoyment, and frequency are the three indicators that correlate positively with present sexual interest and activity among both older men and women. In other words, your present level of activity will probably continue as long as you are physically able and have a capable partner.

From a theoretical point of view, the proper application of regression analysis requires the formulation of a working hypothesis, the design of experiments (i.e., compounds to be tested), the selection of a mathematical model, and the test of statistical significance of the obtained result. In QSAR studies, this is pure theory. Reality is different QSAR studies are most often retrospective studies and in several cases many different variables are tested to find out whether some of them, alone or in combination, are able to describe the data. In principle, there are no objections against this method because QSAR equations should be used to derive new hypotheses and to design new experiments, based on these hypotheses. Then the requirements for the application of statistical methods are fulfilled.
