Using the vapor and liquid loads in your design, read test HETPs from parts a and b of the diagram for the relevant packing. Pick the more conservative of the values you read. If extrapolation is required to obtain the test HETP, your value may be unreliable. If extrapolation is excessive, it is best to terminate the calculation (step 7). 

Sedimentation was the second method tested to calibrate the probe. Polystyrene particles of 0.3-mm mean diameter were again used, without the wetting agent. These particles were chosen because of their very low settling velocities, which allowed sufficient time for voltage readings. Tests were done in a 5-cm acrylic pipe with both tap water and a glycol solution of the same density as the particles. 

These also form an essential part of all clinical chemical methods, and a record kept of successive readings obtained with blanks may provide a valuable early indication of deterioration in reagents. If the practice of reading test solutions directly against blanks is adopted to simplify repetitive calculations, this should not be at the expense of making an initial reading of the optical density of the blank itself, most often in relation to water. 

Middle-school reading tests typically consist of several reading passages up to two pages in length. They are followed by multiple-choice or written response questions that usually cover the reading comprehension skills just listed, as well as vocabulary—both words in context and word knowledge.

Figure 6.11a shows one of the Braille dots moving upwards and downwards. Four Braille letters displayed by the present device are also shown in Figure 6.1 lb. Someya et al. tested the readability of the sheet-like Braille display using the IPMC. Four visually impaired individuals participated in the reading tests. When the operator input Na and Wa in the Japanese Braille format, all four individuals were able to recognize the letters correctly. 

Table 39 compares the mean scores on these tests with those from equivalent tests administered at the initial assessment. The antecedent reading test scores are compared with scores on the reading test administered as part of the initial assessment antecedent verbal reasoning test scores are compared with initial assessment Verbal IQ estimates. The data are presented separately for solvent abusers and controls matched for ethnic background.
