Dimethyl sulfoxide occurs widely at levels of <3 ppm. It has been isolated from spearmint oil, com, barley, malt, alfalfa, beets, cabbage, cucumbers, oats, onion, Swiss chard, tomatoes, raspberries, beer, coffee, milk, and tea (5). It is a common constituent of natural waters, and it occurs in seawater in the 2one of light penetration where it may represent a product of algal metaboHsm (6). Its occurrence in rainwater may result from oxidation of atmospheric dimethyl sulfide, which occurs as part of the natural transfer of sulfur of biological origin (7,8). 

Grape color extract is used to color such products as bakers jams, non-standard jellies and preserves, sherbets, ices, pops, raspberry, grape and strawberry yogurts, gelatin desserts, canned fmit, fmit sauces, candy and confections, and bakery fillings and toppiags. Typical use concentrations are 0.05 to 0.8%, based on the weight of the finished product. 

For a product to be called vinegar, it must contain at least 5.0% acetic acid, HC2H302, by mass. A 10.00-g sample of a raspberry vinegar is titrated with 0.1250 M Ba(OH)2 and required 37.50 mL for complete neutralization. Can the product be called a vinegar ...

Simazine has been widely used in raspberry, boysenberry, and blueberry production (Welker and Brogdon, 1968). When used alone, broadleaf weed control has been excellent, but annual grasses and perennial weeds were not controlled in blueberry (Hertz and Wildung, 1978). Spring-planted raspberry crops do not tolerate weed competition well (Lawson and Wiseman, 1976). Simazine and diuron have been used extensively in many states in new or established cane-planted raspberry. 

When the parent phenol complex of [Os] 85 is combined with MVK and pyridine in acetonitrile, a Michael addition occurs to give the 4H-phenol complex 86 in 91 % yield (Scheme 11). This complex is remarkably stable and resists rearomatization even when allowed to stand in an acidic solution of acetonitrile for 24 h. However, addition of an amine base induces rearomatization to yield complex 87. This complex may be heated to afford the deme-talated substitution product 88 (raspberry ketone) in 71 % yield (based on 85) [29].
