Railroad Commission

Prior to 1973, there was a surplus supply of crude oil in the United States. To avoid overproduction with the concomitant depression in the price of crude oil, the Texas Railroad Commission controlled the level of production of oil wells in Texas (other states had similar regulations). This provided some stability in cmde oil pricing. However, in 1973, it became apparent to the oil ministers of OPEC countries that oil-importing countries could not do without the Middle... 

Additionally, in the near future, SECO will execute its first fuel cell project, the Texas LPG Fuel Processor Development and Fuel Cell Demonstration Program. George R. King (Houston Area Research Center) provided information on the Texas Railroad Commission s desire to begin regulating the fuel cell industry (hydrogen storage tank refill requirements, fuel cell installation, etc.). 

The Barnett Shale formation is located in the Fort Worth Basin of north-central Texas. It is a Mississippian-age black shale occurring at a depth of 6500 to 8500 feet (Table 5.2) and is bounded by limestone formations above (Marble Falls Limestone) and below (Chappel Limestone) (Figure 5.2). However, most enforcement actions are conducted at the state level. The Texas Railroad Commission, for example, reports that it performed 118,484 oil and gas inspections in FY 2012, identif3dng almost 56,000 alleged violations (with 561 resolved) and assessing 1,965,019 in penalties.

The Railroad Commission of Texas investigated a natnral gas explosion and fire that resulted in one fatality in Lake Dallas, Texas, in Angnst 1997 [5]. A metal pipe pressing against a plastic pipe generated stress intensification that led to a brittle-like crack in the plastic pipe.
