In the short term, CPD pinned its hopes for recovery on sales of its new line of BTUs - two vertical units, the Eldorado 76 and 78, and two rotational models, the Theratron 765 and 780. CPD introduced these machines at the annual convention and trade show of the Radiological Society of North America in Chicago in 1971. They featured welded steel arms that were strong enough to hold extra electronic components such as motors and compressors and were covered with ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene copolymer) plastic covers, which gave them a more modern, streamlined appearance and made access for servicing much easier. Production was expected to commence the following year. [Pg.159]
