There are obvious benefits to any future consulting physician to know something of the medical history of a study subject, including any significant data obtained from a past clinical trial that might affect future medical care. In many cases, knowledge of the medical history contained in the medical records will decide whether the study subject meets the inclusion or exclusion criteria for the study. Additional information obtained from biopsy reports, radiographs and similar documents will provide confirmation that the data in the CRF are recorded correcdy. 

Human Toxicology. Male volunteer subjects acutely exposed to 70 mg m cinnamic acid for 10 min had only transient minimal irritant symptoms (slight excess lacrimation, mild rhinorrhea, and bouts of nonproductive coughing) with minor increases in breathing rate, tidal volume, and minute volume, which remrned to control values within 5-10 min of the end of exposure peak flow rate, forced vital capacity, and forced expiratory volume were not significantly altered. Pre- and postexposure chest radiographs were normal (Ballantyne and Clifford, 1978). 

After daily exposures to CS for 10 days, seven subjects had no alterations in blood sodium, potassium, alkaline phosphatase, or bromsulfophthalein one of the seven had an increase in thymol turbidity. No chest radiograph or urinary changes were seen.4 In another study,5 although significant changes were seen in some blood chemistries after exposure, all values were within the normal range. 

A study of radiographic parameter variations due to low-energy inspection of graphite epoxy composites has been made by Fassbender and Hagemaier [176]. This study demonstrated that radiographic films exhibited higher subject contrast at 25 kV than at... 

In other studies, Edwards (248), Fairchild, Tonna, and Seibold (257, 258) and Frigero (293) have employed activation analysis low-background radiographic techniques to measure the boron distribution within cells in order to use Boron-10 in clinical trials of an experimental therapuetic procedure, that is, neutron capture therapy. These particular cellular distribution studies were carried out on mouse spleen, and, after the activation, the materials were exposed to photographic nuclear track emulsions of Eastman Kodak Type NTA. The countable a-particle tracks obtained in these experiments showed that concentrations of B-10 of 60 Mg/gm, the amount that can be safely delivered to tumors in human subjects, could be readily determined. In other applications of activation analysis and autoradiography, Vincent (963) and Vincent, Haumont and Roels (964) made microscopic determinations of sodium in compact bone and of bone phosphorus.
