Quick release

Bolted joints are friendlier than quick-release couplings. The former are usually dismantled by a fitter after issue of a permit to work. One person prepares the equipment and another person opens it up the issue of the permit provides an opportunity to check that the correct precautions have been taken. In addition, if the joints are unbolted correctly, any trapped pressure is immediately apparent and the joint can be remade or the pressure allowed to blow off. In contrast, many accidents have occurred because operators opened up equipment which was under pressure, without independent consideration of the hazards, using quick-release couphngs. There are, however, designs of quick-release couphngs which give the operator a second chance. 

Quick disconnecting ducts Ductwork provided with a quick-release mechanism for disconnection providing easy access for cleaning the ductwork. 

Quick-release access doors Doors located in strategic areas of a plant to allow access for maintenance or cleaning. 

Compressed air is often used to empty tank trucks and cars. Plastic pellets are often blown out of tank trucks. When the tank is empty, the driver vents the tank and then looks through the manhole to check that the tank is empty. One day a driver who was not regularly employed on this job started to open the manhole before releasing the pressure. When he had opened two out of five quick-release fastenings, the manhole blew open. The driver was blown off the tank top and killed. 

Several fatal or serious accidents have occurred when one man has carried out the whole Job—preparation and opening up—and has used a quick-release fastening instead of nuts and bolts. One incident, involving a tank truck, is described in Section 13.5. Here is another ... 

Quick-release couplings The coupling shall be of the type having self-sealing valves in both the plug and the body with a flexible tube fitted to the downstream connection, which shall be the male plug section. A manual valve shall be fitted immediately upstream of the coupling. 

Granular swelling agents. These systems typically consist of cross-linked hydrophilic polymers like e.g. cross-linked poly-(N-vinyl pyrrolidone) or hydrophilic but insoluble polymers, e.g. cellulose that swell to a considerable volume within a few seconds on contact with water. These systems are powerful disintegrants and are used particularly in quick-release detergent tablets put in a dispenser tray. 

Should not be fastened with locks other than antipanic catches or other quick releasing devices. 

Once integrated into the host chromosome, the assembly of new viral particles necessitates the prodnction of viral RNA transcripts and proteins. Initiation of viral transcription is also an RNA independent process where host transcription promoters and enhancer elements such as NF-kB bind to the 5 -LTR. The host transcriptional complex is then recrnited and transcription commences.Once transcription has been initiated, RNA and RNA-RNA interactions play a critical role in mediating the production of viral transcripts. The multiprotein transcription complex has a recognition factor for nonhost DNA and quickly releases from viral DNA, creating short, abortive transcripts. Processing and nuclear export of these transcripts leads to the translation of the HIV Tat protein, a small early-phase viral protein (Figure 10.4) that plays a key role in the ultimate formation of fnll-length viral RNA transcripts. 

Chemical detectors can and are using filters in mine detection to do a similar function, to concentrate samples, and also to separate the rough and tumble of field sampling from the analysis step. The various companies use different solutions, but inevitably they have to have a holding stage followed by a quick release into the detector. Like the cold finger and flash heater of commercial chemical analyzers.

It s quick-release cargo bay can carry different types of sensor equipment. 

Tracer is injected by driving the sealed glass vial against the sharpened breaker paints by means of the hydraulic pump. The end of the tube in the flowing stream is fitted with slots to permit quick release of the tracer solution into the incoming stream when the vial is broken. 

Use a temperature of 30° to 40°C during rotary evaporation to avoid anthocyanin degradation. It is also important to monitor the process to ensure that the aqueous crude extract is not suctioned into the solvent reservoir. If this is going to happen, quickly release the vacuum and transfer the extract to a larger boiling flask and/or reduce the temperature of the water bath. 

There are two quick-release mechanisms. The first is activated by pulling up the entire cinch mechanism handle as shown in Figs. 5.32 and 5.33 so that the strap can be adjusted and pulled tight prior to ratcheting to the proper tension for occlusion.
