Quantity setting

The quantities set out below relate to each installation or group of installations belonging to the same manufacturer where the distance between the installations is not sufficient to avoid, in foreseeable circumstances, any aggravation of major-accident hazards. These quantities apply in any case to each group of installations belonging to the same manufacturer where the distance between the installations < approximately 500 m. 

Where a substance (or group of substances) listed in Part 1 also falls within a category of Part 2, the quantities set out in Part 1 must be used. 

An apparatus for preparing moulding blanks. It is a development of the Barwell ram extruder which feeds through interchangeable dies to give the correct profile of blank, while an electronically operated cutter, working across the face of the die, cuts the blanks. Oil is admitted to the ram of the extruder in controlled quantities, set by a metering device, so that the compound is forced from the die in the correct amount to form each blank.

The atmosphere is the short-term, global conduit for transport of Pb from source to eventual repositories, so that the quantities set forth in Table 4.3 are eventually dispersed to the terrestrial and aquatic compartments. Concurrently, however, atmospheric Pb that impacts human population exposures is more accessible and biologically active than lead in other forms.

The extent of the survey is based on regional studies, with the requirements for data quality and quantity set forth in Refe [1,6]. It may be smaller if the area is not populated and possible causes of events do not exist. Often, a mathematical relationship between an observable and a variable does not emerge directly from an experiment. It is likely that the experiment yields a set of data points, (x,y), where x is the variable, a controllable quantity set by the experimenter, and y is the observed or measured quantity. The problem of finding a functional relation between the observable and the variable, that is, finding y x), is the problem of curve fitting.
