Depending on the composition of the various membranes, it might be appropriate to use IAM columns with different phospholipids. As these columns are not commercially available, phosphatidylcholine (PC)- or phosphatidylserine (PS)-covered infusorial earth as the stationary phase and phosphate buffer as the mobile phase have been used to determine the retention time for a series of 2,3,6-triaminopyridines with anticonvulsant activity. Fully protected tumor-associated carbohydrate antigen Globo-H (50), a potential breast and prostate cancer vaccine [54, 55], was assembled by automated solid support synthesis using oct-4-ene-l,8-diol linker 49 and building blocks 51-56 (Scheme 20.15). Tin(ll) bis-2-ethyl hexanoate (Sn(Oct)2, Aldrich, 95%), methacrylic anhydride (Aldrich, 94%), N,N-dimethylamino-4-pyridine (DMAP, Acros 99%), 1,1,4,7,10,10-hexamethyltriethylene tetramine (HMTETA, Aldrich, 97%), ethyl-2-bromoisobutyrate (E BBr, Aldrich, 98%), N,N-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (DCC, Acros, 99%), were used as received. Tetrahydrofuran (THF, Labscan, 99%) was dried over molecular sieves (4A) and distilled over polystyryl lithium (PS LC) complex under reduced pressure just before use. Toluene (Labscan, 99%) was dried by refluxing over CaH2. [Pg.272]

Several important insecticides are thiono esters of the type (R0)2(R 0)PS or (RO)2(R S)PS. Some triesters have applications as fungicides, defoliants and so forth, while others are useful oil additives (Chapter 12.12). Dialkyl phosphoromonothioates, (RO)2P(S)OH, R = Et, Bu Oct, Ph, Bz are reported to have a high selectivity for precious metal flotatiou under alkaline conditions.
