Protection issues competency

Communautaire. Accreditation aims at the reliability of measurement results and enables laboratories to demonstrate technical competence to their customers. Metrological concepts in food science have become a widely discussed topic over the last few years. Representing the top of the international measurement infrastructure, the National Metrology Institutes (NMIs) have the mandate to disseminate the best practice and measurement capabilities to the beld laboratories (FLs) in their countries. The European and international measurement infrastructure needs high-quality tools to assess the reliability and comparability of measurements results in view of the implementation of EU and international policies regarding internal market activities as well as health and consumer protection issues. 

Within a period of perhaps 15 or 20 years, we have witnessed a profound maturation within the profession of pharmacy. The utterances of the profession, as projected in its hterature, have evolved from mostly self-centered and self-serving issues of trade protection to a composite of expressed professional interests that prominently include responsible explorations of scientiflc/technological questions and ethical issues that promote the best interests of the chentele served by the profession. Ethical considerations must be applied from the design to the completion of a clinical trial. Clear scientific hypotheses and objectives are critical. It is difficult to justify a clinical study if it is not clinically important or relevant. There are added ethical considerations for cancer patients, many of whom have been heavily pretreated with other chemotherapy agents and many of whom are terminally ill and may not derive any direct benefit from the agent being studied, particularly in phase 0 and I trials [23]. Clinical trials are conducted under guidelines issued in the Belmont Report of 1978 that protects human subjects and follows principles of respect for persons, beneficence, and justice. Scientific conduct is also guided by ethical principles in that competent and rigorous analysis is required to prevent compromise of the results [24]. 

Work with radioactive materials is subjected to licensing procedures that may differ from country to country. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to become familiar with the regulations being issued by the relevant competent authority. Governmental regulations related to radioactive materials are also subjected to changes from time to time to maintain the state of the art of radiation protection. Scientists... 

The regional OSH authorities and civil protection authorities should cooperate. Some issues overlap in the inspections of these authorities.
