Propoxyphene/acetaminophen

Propoxyphene (Darvon) Propoxyphene Acetaminophen (Darvocet) Propoxyphene Aspirin (Darvon Compound-65/ Darvon-N + Aspirin) [C-IV] [Narcotic Analgesic]... [Pg.266]

Propoxyphene/aspirin or Propoxyphene/acetaminophen (Darvon Compound-65, others)... [Pg.708]

Analgesics Analgesics or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are often effective in mild-to-moderate migraine. Aspirin, acetaminophen, naproxen, propoxyphene, acetaminophen with butalbital, and caffeine are all effective in treating a migraine attack. [Pg.439]

PROPOXYPHENE/ACETAMINOPHEN (Propoxyphene hydrochloride/Acetaminophen, Propoxyphene hydrochloride/acetaminophen tablets 65 mg propoxyphene hydrochloride/650 mg acetaminophen, propoxyphene napsylate/ acetaminophen Darvocet-N 50 tablets 50 mg propoxyphene napsylate/325 mg acetaminophen, Darvocet A500 tablets 100 mg propoxyphene napsylate/500 mg acetaminophen, Darvocet-N 100 tablets 100 mg propoxyphene)... [Pg.595]

Fulminant liver failure was reported in a 54-year-old woman who had been taking 1000 mg of an unspecified black cohosh product daily for 8 months. The woman had a history of fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, depression, and hypothyroidism and was also taking fluoxetine, propoxyphene, acetaminophen, and levothyroxine (Lynch et al. 2006). [Pg.17]

Pentazocine (Talwin, Talwin Compound, Talwin NX) Propoxyphene (Darvon) Propox5phene Acetaminophen (Darvocet)... [Pg.55]

Heroin is a Schedule I drug morphine, codeine, fentanyl, hydrocodone, hydromorphone, and oxycodone are Schedule II drugs codeine plus aspirin or acetaminophen is Schedule III propoxyphene is Schedule IV and codeine sold over the counter is Schedule V. [Pg.90]

Propoxyphene is chemically related to methadone but has low analgesic activity. Various studies have reported its potency at levels ranging from no better than placebo to half as potent as codeine that is, 120 mg propoxyphene = 60 mg codeine. Its true potency probably lies somewhere between these extremes, and its analgesic effect is additive to that of an optimal dose of aspirin or acetaminophen. However, its low efficacy makes it unsuitable, even in combination with aspirin, for severe pain. The increasing incidence of deaths associated with its use and misuse has caused it to be scheduled as a controlled substance. Moreover, banning its use in the United States is under consideration. [Pg.701]

Oral 65 mg propoxyphene plus 389 mg aspirin plus 32.4 mg caffeine 50, 65, 100 mg propoxyphene plus 325 or 650 mg acetaminophen. Note This product is not recommended. [Pg.708]

Propoxyphene (Schedule II) is another opiate prescribed for pain which is much weaker than those mentioned above. Notice the structural similarities to methadone. Its effects last longer than many other drugs in this class which means it can be taken less frequently and the potential of abuse will be lessened. It can also be formulated with aspirin or acetaminophen in order to have a summation effect. [Pg.175]

Some compounds that affect respiratory rate. Acetaminophen is one of the simple analgesics, which in therapeutic doses relieves pain without any effect on an individual s consciousness. Propoxyphene hydrochloride is a narcotic analgesic, a class of substances that can cause biochemical changes in the body leading to chemical dependency. [Pg.152]

Propoxyphene Darvon 50-100 mg every 4 hours Very weak potency (similar to aspirin) can be combined with acetaminophen (Darvocet , E-Lor , Genagesic, Propacet , Wygesic )... [Pg.45]

SCHEDULE II Certain barbiturates, cocaine, codeine, codeine + acetaminophen (depends on dose and formulation), fentanyl (depends on dose), hydrocodone, hydromorphone, meperidine, methadone, morphine (depends on combination with other pain relievers), oxycodone, propoxyphene... [Pg.92]

IV Relatively low abuse potential and limited dependency potential. Whereas schedule II prescriptions must be written, prescriptions for schedule III and IV drugs may be verbal and may be refilled up to five times in 6 months if authorized by the prescriber. Propoxyphene with acetaminophen... [Pg.57]

Lopinavir/ritonavir (LPV/r) Kaletra 33.3 mg and 133.3 mg capsules 20 mg/ml and 80 mg/ml solutions Acetaminophen/propoxyphene or tramadol, codeines, aspirin/caffeine/propoxyphene, erythromycins, itraconazole, ketoconazole, fluconazole, voriconazole... [Pg.207]

Note Darvocet is propoxyphene and acetaminophen Darvon Compound is propoxyphene and aspirin... [Pg.483]
