In recent years, the three-level system of NDT experts certification, which corresponds to the EN 473, is being introduced m Ukraine The unified Rules of NDT Experts Certification will be introduced in the near future. This work is headed by the State Committee of Ukraine on Labour Safety), and with the aim of the most expedient transition to EN 473, the National Certification Committee of Ukraine on NDT was established by the initiative of US NDT TD. The Committee has the tasks of preparing the programs, procedures, questionnaires for carrying out the certification. It is a non-profit organisation which is in charge of the methodological issues of certification m the US NDT TD. 

The CACTVS molecule editor is a graphical input tool for molecular structures and is free of charge for non-profit use. It can be used as a stand-alone or as a dependent remote program of the CACTVS computation workbench. The software is available for aU platforms (excluding Macintosh systems).

A survey of 500 plants that have implemented predictive maintenance methods indicates substantial improvements in reliability, availability and operating costs. The successful programs included in the survey include a cross-section of industries and provide an overview of the types of improvements that can be expected. Based on the survey results, major improvements can be achieved in maintenance costs, unscheduled machine failures, repair downtime, spare parts inventory, and both direct and in-direct overtime premiums. In addition, the survey indicated a dramatic improvement in machine life, production, operator safety, product quality and overall profitability. 

The successful and profitable conduct of a frozen food quality program requires suitable and workable standards of product quality and condition, and suitable methods for determining the degree of product conformance with the standards. The methods used may be either subjective or objective in character, or a combination of both the most consistent and reproducible results will be obtained with objective methods. Present-day frozen food standards are, for the most part, based upon subjective methods of quality determination. These are certainly better than none at all but they are subject to considerable misinterpretation and human error, and for this reason leave much to be desired in providing a sound basis for quality control. 

Isochronous graphs are particularly valuable when obtained experimentally, because they are less time consuming and require less specimen preparation than creep curves. Such graphs at several time intervals can also be used to build up creep curves and indicate areas where the main experimental creep program could be most profitable. They are also popular as means of evaluating de-formational behavior, because their method of data presentation is similar to the conventional tensile test data.

Metal finishers are seeing their profits shrink as waste management costs increase. To control waste disposal costs, metal finishers must focus on developing and implementing a facility-wide waste reduction program. In other words, as discussed in Section 6.4, metal finishers must consciously seek out ways to decrease the volume of waste that they generate.
