A separate mention is merited for a special molded hardboard product. These are made by a process in which either a fiber mat or hardboard panel is placed between two shaped platens and press-molded to a three-dimensional configuration. The most common resulting shape is a doorskin which resembles a wood panel door. The doorskins are bonded to wood frames to make an excellent, attractive, and relatively inexpensive door. This ftber/panel mol ding process is also used to make a wide variety of molded interior linings used in automobile manufacture. 

The rigidi d thermoplastic sheet - Tiocess combines thermoplastic sheet vacuum forming with a spray-up or cold press molding process to add a thermoset composite stmctural backing to a decorative thermoplastic skin. Large parts such as bathtubs, hot tubs, recreation vehicle components, and camper tops have been produced by this process. 

An optimum temperature interval of the mold in the processing of aminoplasts is 135-160 °C. The main condition for the choice of the press-mold temperature within the above limits is a termination of the process of material compaction...

Rovings are rope-hke bundles of continnons untwisted strands for nse in snch processes as perform press molding, filament winding, spray-np, pnltmsion, and centrifugal casting. They can also be converted into chopped strand mats or cnt into short fibers for molding compounds. 

Without use of accelerators, external heat is required, making a system suitable for mechanical processes, such as hot press molding and continuous impregnation of sheet and profile. Temperatures in the range 120-160C (248-320F) are used to cure in a short cycle accelerators offer no advantage as the rate of cure depends on thermal decomposition of the peroxide, and typical cycle times are 1-10 min. 

Cold press molding represent compression molding that involves only a moderate investment in equipment and using a lower-powered press than with large series processes. Molds can be made from RP materials rather than from high-quality steel. The reinforcement is generally mat which can be preformed if necessary fabric can also be used.
