Process performance indices definition

The basic condition of the Standard application - the availability of stable coupled probabilistic or the multiple probabilistic relations between then controlled quality indexes and magnetic characteristics of steel. All the probabilistic estimates, used in the Standard, are applied at confidence level not less than 0,95. General requirements to the means of control and procedure of its performance are also stipulated. Engineers of standard development endeavoured take into consideration the existed practice of technical control performance and test at the enterprises that is why the preparation of object control for the performance of nondestructive test can be done during the process of ordinary acceptance test. It is suggested that every enterprise is operated in correspondence with direct and non-destructive tests, obtained exactly at it, for detailed process chart and definite product type, however the tests have long since been performed after development of the Standard displayed that process gives way to unification. [Pg.25]

It is hard to find out the most appropriate equipment/method and performance index to measure and assess the quality of catalysts, which is difficult in unified definition and standardization of methods. So far, some methods for evaluating the activities of a few catalysts such as those for catalytic ammonia synthesis and catalytic cracking have been standardized. The evaluation methods are different due to the varieties of catalysts and the experiences of researchers. Sometimes, the technical details of evaluation methods are a part of patent, such as formula and preparation process is confidential. Even then, some basic conceptions and methods for the evaluation and testing of catalysts are still worthy being introduced, which is the main focus of this chapter. [Pg.543]

Collection Mechanism The trusty index card will work for performing inspections, but this requires the individual to remember the inspection criteria or refer to an inspection list and make notes about observations. A clipboard with a predefined set of questions (that can be answered yes or no ) for each machine is a definite improvement on the index card method. Be sure to leave a space for comments. Both the index card and the clipboard approach require manual entry of the data once they are collected. A more modern approach is to set up the inspection in an industrial-quality personal digital assistant. For each machine, the inspector can answer yes or no, and as required, write short comments. These comments could be selected from a drop-down menu to minimize inconsistency. The data can then be uploaded to a host computer for storage. This speeds the process, ensures that the data will be captured, and reduces transposition errors. [Pg.1523]
