Procedural Change

This change involves the management, organizational, and personal functions of production. The reevaluation of plant procedures can often reveal some reduction opportunities that are relatively inexpensive and easy to implement. Many of these measures, which are used in industry mostly to improve waste reduction, can be implemented in all the areas of a plant as well. They often require little capital cost and result in a high retvurn on investment. Procedural changes can include  [Pg.61]

Several procedures can be adopted into plant design and operations to reduce the likelihood of spills, including  [Pg.62]

Controlled and supervised loading, unloading, and transfer of all hazardous substances. [Pg.62]

Installation of overflow arms and automatic pump shutoffs. [Pg.62]

Training employees for careful handling and operation of the raw material and the process. [Pg.62]

Nonstandard and Military Matches. Because match manufacture is a series of high speed and highly mechanized operations, any variation that involves dimensional or incisive procedural changes is a significant undertaking which is only warranted if continual high production is to result. [Pg.2]

The project review process involves multiple steps that should be definea in management gmdelines (CCPS, 1993, pp. 57-61). The steps include (1) review pohcy, (2) review scheduling, (3) reviewtech-nique, (4) review team representation, (5) review documentation, (6) review follow-up, (7) review follow-up verification, and (8) review procedures change management. These steps define how a review, whether it be a safety review, environmental review, pre-start-up review, or whatever, is conducted and how closure of review aclion items is achieved. [Pg.2285]

Evaluation forms, MOC packages, audits, procedure changes, and test results are reviewed. (Feeds back to other phases.)... [Pg.204]

The results are summarized in Table 11.3-3 for both internal and external results, the CDF from all causes is 7.4E-4/y of which internal events contribute 3.1E-4 and external events 2.9E-4. This number has been reduced by design, administrative, and operational procedure changes. [Pg.415]

Procedure change records (clause 4.14.1.1) - these are not quality records (see below)... [Pg.493]

The reaction is exothermic. The checkers found that the yield of the final product was raised from 57% in the first run to 71% in the second and third runs when the triethylamine was added at 30-34° with slight cooling. Another procedural change made by the checkers in Part A in these last two runs was that the dry ice condenser was kept in place for more than 8 hours after the... [Pg.152]

Assuming you used only the glassware supplied for the original experiment, briefly comment on the procedural change necessary to titrate 25.00 mL of commercial bleaching solution. [Pg.278]

The procedural change would be to titrate the solution a portion at a time and then calculate the total Na2S203 used. [Pg.278]

Implementing a recommendation must go beyond an equipment, process or procedural change. What was learned about an incident or near miss and its causes, as well as the changes made to prevent recurrence, needs to be effectively communicated to employees. As a result, they will have a greater understanding to better identify future near misses and the factors that could lead to a chemical reactivity incident at their facility. This will also encourage employees to report other near misses. [Pg.123]

Root Mea Square Error of Prediction (RMSEP) (Model Diagnostic) The RMSEP values for all four components are numerically summarized in Table 5.6. They are large owing to the bias in the predictions. Several reasons for this bias can be proposed, including an inaccurate reference method, transcription errcKS, poor experimental procedures, changes in densiw and/or pathlength, l t scatter in the instrument or sample, chemical interactions,... [Pg.113]

On the face of it, and as argued by the Australian government (Davies 2004), the provisions of the AUSFTA represent procedural changes rather than substantive reform to current regulatory arrangements. Further, within the principles of Annex 2C, "innovation" is uniquely linked with "high-quality healthcare," "affordability," "accountability, and "objectively demonstrated therapeutic significance."... [Pg.278]

The base extraction cleanup procedure changed the initial GC profile data contained in the original ethyl ether extract. Specifically,... [Pg.339]

Following these procedures, changes made in your company should be seamless, without any interruption in the quality and purity of your products. [Pg.778]

Remediate software hardware and/or procedural changes employed to bring a system into compliance with 21 CFR Part 11. [Pg.183]
