Proangiogenic factors

The N-terminal fragment (mini-TyrRS) is a proangiogenic factor. An ELR tripeptide found in CXC-chemokines with proangiogenic activity is located in the Rossmann fold of mini-TyrRS and is responsible for its angiogenic function. Mini-TyrRS also has interleukin-S-hke activity, which includes stimulation of polymorphonuclear ceU migration and binding to the IL-8 receptor. [Pg.38]
