The beer is filtered into pressure tanks and transferred to the bottling or keging machine. It is then pasteurized to avoid biological spoilage. The finished product is completed in five to six weeks for pilsner beer and six to nine weeks for the stronger beers. [Pg.18]

Basically the system is fed electrolyte or distilled water from a reservoir via a pump that can be manually and level sensor activated. The reservoir will supply water or electrolyte to the electrolyzer and a pressure tank with a sight glass. The sight glass on the pressure tank shows the fill level in the pressure tank and the electrolyzer, and when a predetermined level is reached, the pump is switched off, either manually or automatically with sensor switches. When the electrolyte reaches the fill level, the power to the electrolyzer is switched on manually or automatically, and the electrolyzer begins to disassociate hydrogen from oxygen in the electrolyte. [Pg.76]

Both pressure tank and bubbler are constructed using 3" OD stainless tubing with welded and tapped stainless steel end caps. The bubbler contains a stainless steel tube which is welded to the top cap. This tube has a stainless steel screen welded to the outlet on the bottom of the tube. [Pg.82]

The reservoir tank holds distilled water or KOH solution electrolyte in reserve to replenish the electrolyte in the pressure tank and electrolyzer. The electrolyte fluid is depleted when the electrolyzer operates and water is disassociated into hydrogen and oxygen. [Pg.98]

The pump s purpose in this system is to move either distilled water or KOH from the reservoir tank to the pressure tank and electrolyzer at a pressure which is slightly above the operating pressure of the system. [Pg.102]

The valves in the feed system can be set up in a number of different ways. If a check valve is used to keep the KOH from reentering the tank, put a check valve between the pump and the pressure tank, right after the pump. Beside the check valve on the line to the pressure tank, place a 3-way valve. This valve will allow the fluid from the pump to proceed either to the pressure tank and electrolyzer or be drained from the pressure tank and... [Pg.108]

For a gravity drain of the pressure tank and electrolyzer as mentioned above, the pump and 3-way valve must be located below the electrolyzer and pressure tank, so that the fluids will drain downward. The reservoir can positioned at any level, since the pump is used to drain it. [Pg.109]

The pressure tank must be situated so that the fluid level is also 34" to /211 from the top of the inside of the pressure tank. Be sure that the pressure tank and electrolyzer are situated correctly in relation to each other. [Pg.288]
