Pressure Relief Valves. Pressure relief devices used on cargo tanks and portable tanks are similar to the CG-7 devices described for compressed gas cylinders earlier in this chap- 

These pressure relief devices meet the applicable DOT or TC requirements for design, materials, installation, set pressure tolerance, markings, and certification of capacity as given in current editions of one of the following standards  

ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 1 [10] Specifications for Tank Cars, Appendix A, (AAR M-1002) [11] 

Type CG-2 (Fusible Plug Device). This type of device is described earlier in this chapter under compressed gas cylinder pressure relief devices. Only the CG-2 fusible plug with a nominal melt temperature of 165 F 

Note 1 When more than one type of device is listed in Table 7-2 for a particular gas, only one type is required. Note 2 The symbols used in Table 7-2 are defined at the end of the table. Interpretation of these symbols is necessary to determine the type of relief device to be used with the specific lading.
