Pregnancy headache

Toxicological studies have demonstrated that there are no important problems with fluconazole. Therapeutic doses of fluconazole may cause enzyme induction in the Hver. This suggests that interactions with other dmgs cannot be excluded. The side effects are similar to those of itraconazole and include nausea, headache, and vertigo. Occasionally, increased Hver enzymes may be noted. Like itraconazole, fluconazole is contraindicated during pregnancy. 

Notify the primary healdi care provider if any of the following occurs skin rash, bleeding, swollen or tender gums, yellowish discoloration of the skin or eyes, unexplained fever, sore throat, unusual bleeding or bruising, persistent headache, malaise, or pregnancy.

The calcium channel blockers have been associated with both prolonged pregnancy and decreased neonatal morbidity.36,42 when compared with P-mimetics (e.g., terbutaline) and magnesium, they show better neonatal outcome and a lower incidence of serious maternal side effects.42 Potential minor maternal adverse effects include headache, flushing, dizziness, and transient hypotension.41... 

Some dietary supplements have no known precautions, while others have many precautions and contraindications. It is recommended that the use of ginseng be avoided in patients with hypertension, psychological imbalances, headaches, heart palpitations, insomnia, asthma, inflammation, infections with high fever, or pregnancy and in children [37]. 

NSAIDs may also cause kidney diseases, hepatitis, hypersensitivity reactions, rash, and CNS complaints of drowsiness, dizziness, headaches, depression, confusion, and tinnitus. All nonselective NSAIDs inhibit COX-l-dependent thromboxane production in platelets, thereby increasing bleeding risk. NSAIDs should be avoided in late pregnancy because of the risk of premature closure of the ductus arteriosus. 

Methotrexate, an antimetabolite, is indicated for moderate to severe psoriasis. It is particularly beneficial for psoriatic arthritis. It is also indicated for patients refractory to topical or UV therapy. Methotrexate can be administered orally, subcutaneously, or intramuscularly. The starting dose is 7.5 to 15 mg per week, increased incrementally by 2.5 mg every 2 to 4 weeks until response maximal doses are approximately 25 mg/wk. Adverse effects include nausea, vomiting, mucosal ulceration, stomatitis, malaise, headache, macrocytic anemia, and hepatic and pulmonary toxicity. Nausea and macrocytic anemia can be ameliorated by giving oral folic acid 1 to 5 mg/day. Methotrexate should be avoided in patients with active infections and in those with liver disease. It is contraindicated in pregnancy because it is teratogenic. 

For tension headaches during pregnancy, nonpharmacologic approaches are first-line therapies, including exercise, biofeedback, and massage. If drug therapy is needed, acetaminophen is the first choice. 

Phenobarbitone is used to treat epilepsy, migraine headache, dental infections, pregnancy vomiting, tetanus, enuresis, chorea, pre and post operative sedation, hypertension, anxiety states, neurosis, and in the treatment of drug and alcohol addiction. This drug is also called phenobarbital.
