Polyether ether ketone (PEEK) and Polyether sulphone (PES) belong to the most recent developments in the field of technical high-performance polymers. Both possess very good thermal and mechanical properties, which can be further improved by reinforcing fibres. Their application is mainly in aircraft and space vehicles. [Pg.18]

Size exclusion chromatography (SEC) enables the determination of the molecular size of organic molecules. Samples were filtered through a 0.45 pm filter (Gelman Sciences Acrodiscs) prior to analysis. The membrane filter material was Super (Polyether-sulphone). [Pg.102]

Polymer Specimens. The materials used in this work were polyimide (PI),polyamide-imide (PAl), polyether-ether-ketone (PEEK), polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) and polyether sulphone (PES). The chemical formulas and physical properties of the specimen polymers are summarized in Table I. The specimen polymers, except PPS, were unfilled while the PPS specimen was filled with glass fiber of Uo wt. %. PAI and PES are amorphous polymer with considerably high glass temperature. One of the attractions of the fracture mechanics approach is that the results are geometry independent.
