GDI 17 c-kit) is a transmembrane tyrosine kinase receptor that has been immunolocalized in various neoplasms, the most notable of which is gastrointestinal stromal tumors where c-kit is felt to be a relatively specihc and sensitive immunohistochemical marker of gastrointestinal stromal tumors.
