Plasma inorganic content

There are different spectrophotometric techniques for analysis of contaminants in biofuels. Simultaneous detection of the absorption spectrum and refractive index ratio with a spectrophotometer for monitoring contaminants in bioethanol has been carried out by Kontturi et al., 2011. Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry and optical emission spectral analysis with inductively coupled plasma (ICP-OES) have also been used to analyze biodiesel samples for trace metals (ASTM, 2007 ECS, 2006). Lead is absorbed to the blood plasma, and then rapidly equilibrates between plasma and the extracellular fluid. More slowly (but within minutes), lead is transferred from the plasma to the blood cells. The turnover of lead in plasma is very rapid, the half-life after intravenous injection in humans being 1 min (Campbell et al. 1984). Within the blood, about 99% of the Pb content is in the red cells, and less than 1% is in the plasma (Ong et al. 1990). The metal content and the constituents of inorganic matter, which can also be crucial for the performance of carbons, are usually determined using atomic absorption spectroscopy, and the technique used most often is inductively coupled plasma (ICP) atomic spectroscopy. Before the experiments, the samples have to be digested in strong acids. 

The content of inorganic ions is very similar in plasma and interstitial fluid, the two components of the extracellular fluid, (ECF, extracellular fluid ICF, intracellular fluid). 

Spray drying is used to dry pharmaceutical fine chani-cals, foods, dairy products, blood plasma, numerous organic and inorganic chemicals, rubber latex, ceramic powders, detergents, and other products. Some of the spray-dried products are listed in Table 9.1, which also includes typical inlet and outlet moisture content and tanperatures together with the atomizer type and spray dryer layout used. 

Most of the commonly used methods of inorganic analysis of plastics, including inductively coupled plasma emission spectroscopy, atomic absorption spectroscopy, ionic chromatography, and capillary electrophoresis, require that the samples for analyses be introduced preferably as solutions with low viscosity and minimal salt content.
