Proprietary systems are available employing Lego type blocks which can be constructed and placed on a baseboard to represent a three-dimensional visualization of the layout. Another system employs aluminum castings of the actual items of equipment and operatives. Cardboard cutouts have been the most commonly used method, particularly with those who rarely plan layouts. 

An experienced validation practitioner can prodnce a Validation Plan for a computer system (usually 10 to 15 pages long) in abont 3 days. An example Vahdation Plan layout is illustrated in Appendix 6C. The structure of Validation Plans mnst be scaleable to fit the system or software being validated. For large projects, configuration management and fnnctional test planning may be split ont into separate documents. Validation Plans can also make nse of appendices for project milestones and resumes of project team members. 

Plot Plan Layout Aid. The plot plan will be a major aid in the design and layout of the various sewer systems. It will indicate the locations of all the various pumps, exchangers, tanks and towers. It will also indicate the extent of paved areas, roadways, undei ound utilities (water and electric) and the locations and inverts of the various sewer tie-ins to the sewer mains at the battery limits.

In most apphcations, the use of a round shaft, using a circular plan layout is far preferable. The smooth, round inside diameter that a circular cross-section provides improved ventilation flow while providing a geomechanically stable envelope that is resistant to caves and deformation in all but the most challenging ground conditions. As most shafts are concrete lined, the addition of the liner adds to the stability of the envelope, reduces ventilation friction losses, and provides for a consistent geometry to attached shaft sets. The pros/cons of these two main varieties of layout are shown in Table 1. 

In the test example considered there is one group of storeys since the plan layout of the columns/shear walls is the same for both storeys. 

In addition to the written description it is often very useful to produce a simple line drawing of the plan layout of the building. If the premises are larger or complex, then it is particularly useful to include a line drawing. This can also help to check fire precautions as part of the ongoing review.

Accidents Involving site transport frequently result in fatalities. If site traffic is not managed, using planned layouts, banksmen and instructions to vehicle drivers and pedestrians alike then everyone will be left to make their own choices about critical factors which will involve the safety of others. A traffic management plan should be included in every project safety plan. 

There are several other batch processes. Vacuum bag and resin injection techniques have been used for specialist application but these are not used extensively in commercial practice. Centrifugal casting has been used for the manufacture of pipe sections but this is again a specialised area. Filament winding (Fig. 3) is essentially a batch process but by good engineering and well planned layout, pipes and tanks made by the filament winding process can be produced...
