Across the sites, an average of 15% of inpatients received depot antipsychotic drugs (Sim etal, 2004b). This was most common in Singapore (75%) followed by Taiwan (20%), Japan and China (6%). The depot antipsychotic drugs used were fluphenazine decanoate, flupenthixol decanoate, zuclopenthixol decanoate, haloperidol decanoate, pipothiazine palmitate, and fluphenazine enanthate. [Pg.146]

Infra-red Spectrum. Principal peaks at wavenumbers 1165,1735, 710, 745, 1250, 955 (pipothiazine palmitate, solution in carbon tetrachloride-carbon disulphide). [Pg.909]

Disposition in the Body. Pipothiazine palmitate is very slowly absorbed from the site of intramuscular injections and gradually releases pipothiazine into the body. After oral administration of pipothiazine, about 1% of a dose is excreted in the urine unchanged in 24 hours. [Pg.909]

Dose. Usually 10 to 20 mg of pipothiazine daily, by mouth. Pipothiazine palmitate is given intramuscularly in doses of 25 to 200 mg, at intervals of about 4 weeks. [Pg.909]
