Pimozide drug interactions

Horrigan, J.P. and Barnhill, L.J. (1994) Paroxetine-pimozide drug interaction. / Am Acad Child Adolesc Psychiatry 33 1060-1061. [Pg.66]

Coadministration with cisapride, pimozide, or carbamazepine (see Warnings and Drug Interactions) patients who were withdrawn from nefazodone because of evidence of liver injury (see Warning box. Warnings) hypersensitivity to nefazodone or other phenylpiperazine antidepressants. [Pg.1064]

Hypersensitivity to the drug or any other component of the product (cross-sensitivity between phenothiazines may occur) comatose or greatly depressed states caused by CNS depressants or from any other cause (phenothiazines, clozapine, loxapine, molindone, pimozide, haloperidol) coadministration with other drugs that prolong the QT interval and in patients with congenital long QT syndrome or history of cardiac arrhythmias (mesoridazine, thioridazine, pimozide, ziprasidone see Drug..Interactions). [Pg.1100]

Azithromycin Drugs that may interact with azithromycin include antacids, cyclosporine, HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, pimozide, tacrolimus, theophyllines, and warfarin. Also consider all drug interactions with erythromycin. [Pg.1610]

Drug interactions Coadministration of cisapride, pimozide, dofetilide, orquinidine with itraconazole is contraindicated. Itraconazole is a potent inhibitor of the cytochrome P450 3A4 isoenzyme system and may raise plasma concentrations of... [Pg.1682]

Hypersensitivity to any component of the product. Coadministration of nelfinavir is contraindicated with drugs that are highly dependent on CYP3A for clearance and for which elevated plasma concentrations are associated with serious and/or life-threatening events (eg, amiodarone, quinidine, ergot derivatives, pimozide, midazolam, triazolam, lovastatin, simvastatin see Drug Interactions). [Pg.1819]

Concomitant administration of KETEK with cisapride or pimozide is contraindicated (see Clinical Pharmacology Drug-Drug Interactions and Precautions )... [Pg.250]

Concomitant administration of clarithromycin with cisapride, pimozide, astemizole, or terfenadine is contraindicated. There have been postmarketing reports of drug interactions when clarithromycin and/ or erythromycin are coadministered with cisapride, pimozide, astemizole, or terfenadine resulting in cardiac arrhythmias (QT prolongation, ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation, and torsades de pointes). [Pg.250]

Telithromycin has several clinically significant drug interactions similar to those for erythromycin. It is both a substrate and a strong inhibitor of CYP3A4. Coadministration of rifampin, a potent inducer of CYP, decreases the serum concentrations of telithromycin by 80%. CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., itraconazole) increase peak serum concentrations of telithromycin. Serum concentrations of CYP3A4 substrates (e.g., pimozide, cisapride, midazolam, statins, cyclosporine, phenytoin) are increased by telithromycin. Telithromycin also increases peak serum concentrations of metoprolol and digoxin. [Pg.672]

A comprehensive review article on tiie treatment of Hxmtington s disease evaluated the data on different antipsy-chotics (aripiprazole, clozapine, haloperidol, olanzapine, pimozide, risperidone, quetiapine, ziprasidone) and summarised the main side effects and drug interactions [25 ]. [Pg.61]

The administration of low doses of PCP to rodents induces hyperactivity and stereotypy (Chen et al. 1959 ). The observation that neuroleptics such as chlorpromazine, haloperidol, and pimozide, and adrenolytics such as alpha-methyl paratyrosine antagonize these behavioral effects of PCP suggests that they are mediated by facilitation of central dopaminergic neurotransmission (Murray and Horita 1979). The actions of PCP on central dopaminergic neurotransmission may be similar to amphetamine. A dose of PCP (2.5 mg/kg) in rats, which has no effects when given alone, enhances the behavioral effects of 1 and 3 mg/kg of d-amphetamine (Balster and Chait 1978). PCP, like dopamine, has also been shown to suppress plasma prolactin (Bayorh et al. 1983). However, the firm establishment of an excl usive relationship between dopamine neuro-transmission and PCP effects is difficult because of the prominent interactions of this drug with other neurotransmitter systems. [Pg.141]

Potential interaction with drugs that inhibit or are metabolized by cytochrome P-450 (3A4 and 2D6) isozymes Caution is indicated in the combined use of nefazodone with any drugs known to be metabolized by the 3A4 isozyme (in particular, cisapride or pimozide). [Pg.1067]

Fraser, A.G. (1997) Pharmacokinetic interactions between alcohol and other drugs. Clin Pharmacokinet 33 79—90. Friedman, E.H. (1994) Re bradycardia and somnolence after adding fluoxetine to pimozide regimen. Can/ Psychiatry 39 634. [Pg.65]
