Photo-locking

The highest X-ray resist sensitivity has been obtained by using an elegant resist technique referred to as photo-locking [47]. The resist consists of a plasma-degradable acrylic polymer (poly(2,3-dichloropropyl acrylate)) and a volatile silicon-containing acrylate (bis-acryloxybutyl tetramethyl disiloxane, Figure 6.22) which can be readily polymerised by the absorbed radiation. [Pg.208]

The cationie dye was assoeiated with the anion (7,8,9,10,11,12 Brg-l-CBnHg) in order to dissolve it in the organie phase. The polarizable window available for photoinduced electron transfer in this system extended over 100 mV for the eonditions specified in Fig. 13. The photoeurrent responses were measured under ehopped light and lock-in detection at 8.4 Hz. Figure 13(b) shows that some photoresponses oeeur only in the presence of the dye speeies, whieh the authors attributed to the transfer of Ru(bpy)3" to the aqueous phase as a result of interfaeial polarization induced by the ehopped light [130]. Upon addition of in the aqueous phase, an inerease in the amplitude of the photo-... [Pg.215]

Other derivatives of p-quinones, such as anthraquinone, mono- and di-sodium sulphonates are photosensitizers of the oxidation of isopropanol [Refs. 84, 105, 106, 158, 662, 663]. Lock and Sagar [377] have suggested that a similar mechanism may occur in the photosensitized oxidation of JV-alkylamides which they studied as a model system simulating the photo-sensitized degradation of polyamides. They suggest that the AT-alkyl radical initially produced may add molecular oxygen to give peroxy radicals which are the precursors of the observed oxidation reaction. [Pg.505]

The standard method to obtain spectra is to lock the laser-frequency to a suitable atomic or molecular line, and apply a post-acceleration (or deceleration) voltage in the interaction region and Dopplertune the ions into resonance. The detection limit for this set-up is limited by the photo multiplier background, mainly due to scattered laser light and beam related light, still ion beams as low as lO s" have given useful spectra. [Pg.338]
