Thiazole konnen durch Reaktionen an den Substituenten ihren aromatischen Charakter verlieren. So tritt beispielsweise am 3-Methyl-2-methylthio-5-phenyl-l,3-thiazolium-perchlorat beim Erhitzen in Pyridin eine Abspaltung der S-standigen Methyl-Gruppe auf567. Dadurch entsteht 3-Methyl-5-phenyl-2-thiono-2,3-dihydro-1,3-thiazol (95%)567 ... 

Mercapto-benzimidazol (und ahnliche ambidente Nukleophile) werden mit Kohlensaure-al-lylestern thermodynamisch kontrolliert am S-Atom angegriffen, wenn man das thiophile Palladium ) als Katalysator einsetzt. Mit 3-Ethoxycarbonyloxy-l-phenyl-propen II erhalt man 2-(3-Phenyl-allylthio)-benzimidazol (III 36%), mit 2 Aquivalenten an II l-(3-Phenyl-allyl)-2-(3-phenyl-allyIthio)-benzimidazol (IV 52%) neben einer geringen Menge l,3-Bis-[3-phenyl-allyl)-2-thiono-2,3-dihydro-benzimidazol (V 7%)378. 

Bei /,3,4-OxadiazoP5-51, 2-Methyl-5% und 2-Amtno-5-phenyl-1,3,4-oxadiazol55 sowie 2-Oxo(Thiono)-2,3-dihydro-1,3,4-oxadiazol5V ist die hohe Intensitat des Molekiilionenpeaks auffSllig. 

Pharmakologischahnlich wirken Derivate von 2-Oxo(Thiono)-5-(2-pyridyl)-2,3-dihydro-l,3,4-oxadiazol72-76 sowie S-(4-Amino-2-hydroxy-phenyl)-2-o.xo-2,3-dihydro- bzw. 5-(4-Acetylami-no-2-hydroxy-phenyl) -2-oxo-2,3-dihydro-l, 3,4-oxadiazol12. 2-( 2- Hydroxy-phenyl)-/, 3,4-oxadiazol (Eudormil ) hat als Hypnoticum Anwendung gefunden78,79. 

Durch Umsetzung von 2-Hydroxy-l,3,4-oxadiazolen mit Amino-carbonsauren sind 5-substi-tuierte 3-Acylamino-2,4-dioxo-imidazolidine bequem zuganglich739. This concept has been extended in two further examples. Based on a literature report that l,4-dihydro-l-phenyl-5H-tetrazol-5-thiones photochemically form carbodiimides by extrusion of nitrogen and sulfur [52], and the expectation that 5-thiono-l,2,4-oxazolidinones may similarly lose carbon dioxide and sulfur to form carbodiimides, 3 and 4 were prepared as potential proinsecticides. Both compounds were efficiently converted into the carbodiimide 5 by ultraviolet light and displayed the expected strong insecticidal and acaricidal properties in vivo (Fig. 28.1.5) [53-55].
