Pharmaceutical vehicles, testing

Petrolatum continues to be used quite extensively in dermatological applications, primarily for three purposes (1) as an inert patch testing base, (2) as a vehicle in the dermal application of pharmaceuticals, and (3) as a treatment product itself. [Pg.293]

The OQ consists of a series of tests based on LIMS FDS. When the pharmaceutical manufacturer is happy that the installation of LIMS has been satisfactorily completed, the project will move on to the stage where the functionality of the final system will be demonstrated. Operational Qualification (OQ) is the vehicle for providing documentary evidence of the demonstrated LIMS functionality for the independent parts of LIMS prior to full integration. There is again a need at the beginning of this phase to review any issues raised during the Design Review process and IQ. [Pg.531]

Table 1 lists alphabetically a large number of ingredients of cosmetics and topical drugs that can act as sensitizers some drugs are accidental contactants, for example in the pharmaceutical industry or in health personnel. For each compound, the concentration and vehicle for patch-testing, known or generally held to be adequate, are mentioned. [Pg.3186]

Here, we will concentrate on the pharmaceutical components responsible for occupation-related contact allergic reactions. Because little attention has been given in the literature to cosmetic ingredients, we will mention them briefly first. The test concentrations and vehicles for the allergenic substances and chemical intermediates (listed alphabetically along with their CAS numbers, whenever possible) as reported in the literature are given in Table 1. The pharmaceutical products described are classified as is in Martindale (1993). [Pg.1041]
