There are two major kinds of cloning vectors. The first are bacterial virus or phage vectors. These are bacterial viruses that have been genetically altered to allow the addition of cloned DNA fragments. These viruses have all the genes required to replicate 100-200 copies of the virus (and cloned fragment) per infected cell. [Pg.742]
