Performance tests weighting

Some scales have a software feature whereby a certain geographical region is identified on initial configuration, and the software then makes the appropriate correction. Some high performance balances have built-in test weights for initial (and periodic) calibration. 

Buoyant Effect of Air. Weighing operations performed m vacuo are not affected by buoyancy forces. An object in air, however, is subject to a buoyancy force that is equal and opposite to the gravitational force on the mass of air the object displaces (10). If the equal arm balance of Figure 1 is in balance with a test weight of mass, in one pan, and material of mass, m, in the other, m = m if they have the same density. Reduced weight has been a major contributor to the improvements in performance and fuel economy over the twenty-year span of Figure 6. The evaporation rate can be derived either (1) by a plot of time versus weight using a solvent having a known evaporation rate for comparison or (2) from the distillation profile (ASTM D86 IP 123). Although the results obtained on the naphtha provide a useful guide, it is, wherever possible, better to carry out a performance test on the final product when assessing enviromnental effects. 

The evolution and optimisation of a formulation is an experimental stage that will be conducted on small batches of the material. For a drug with a tablet weight of 250 mg, test batches would t)rpically be 0.5-1 kg, providing up to 4000 tablets for analysis, performance testing and initial stability studies. Similar scales will be used in the optimisation of the product s packaging. 

As with other packaging components, the incoming tests and specifications of metered valves, inspection attributes, and AQLs (acceptable quality levels) will need to be coordinated with the supplier. The valve should be considered as a critical package component and have incoming performance tests, such as spray weights and weight loss [13,14], The performance test could be conducted on a sample of the valve lots from either scale-up or pilot trials before the validation lots are prepared. This information may also be available for each lot from the supplier. It is recommended that each test shown in Table 3 be conducted on at least three valve lots as part of the validation program. 

No treatment-related effects were observed on testes weight, or on the histological appearance of the testes, ovaries, and uterus of rats administered up to 140 mg 4-nitrophenol/kg/day by gavage for 13 weeks (Hazleton 1989). However, since tests for reproductive performance were not conducted, a reliable NOAEL for reproductive effects cannot be determined.

The structural stability of the PAN-KCoFC and PAN-zeolite 4A composite beads in acid solution was proven by observing no weight loss for 3 day contact with the nitric acid solution of pH = 2. Also the results of ion exchange performance tests confirmed that the composite ion exchanger does not deteriorate by contacting with the acid solutions of pH = 2 for 3 days. 

In a 25-mL Erlenmeyer flask dissolve 0.5 g of triphenylmethanol in 10 mL of acetic acid and then add to this solution 2 mL of an acetic acid solution containing 5% of chloroacetic acid and 1 % of sulfuric acid. Heat the mixture for 5 min, add about 5-6 mL of water to produce a hot saturated solution, and let the tube cool slowly to room temperature. Collect the product by filtration, and wash the crystals with 1 1 methanol-water. Once they are dry, determine the weight and melting point and then perform tests on Compounds 1 and 2 to deduce their identities.
