Peer review author responsibilities

Some of the best work to date on the nature and ethics of authorship has been done by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). The most current version of its work is contained in a 2013 document Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Joimials. Recommendations are made on five authorship-related topics the nature of authorship, responsibilities of authors (including matters related to conflicts of interest), responsibilities of authors and referees in the submission and peer-review processes, responsibilities of journal owners, and the protection of research participants. ... 

Correctly formatted abbreviations, numbers, and units are an essential part of scientihc writing. Formatting is the author s responsibility it is not the responsibility of a faculty mentor, peer reviewer, or journal editor. If you are not sure how to format a number or word correctly, consult The ACS Style Guide and look for instructions to authors in your journal of interest. 

Once the editor has reviewed the manuscript and determined that it is appropriate for the publication, the peer-review process begins. Chapter 6 describes peer review and the responsibilities of reviewers and authors. 

The entire manuscript of this book has undergone a peer review by an independent international group of reviewers, according to the procedures in the TDB-6 Guideline, available from the NEA. The U.S. EPA approach to risk assessments for toxic chemicals follows the format described by the NRC. Because Hazard Identification and Dose-Response Assessment for an agent do not depend upon specific local situations, EPA assumes that risk assessors evaluating specific sites will not conduct independent analyses in these areas but will instead rely on the results of peer-reviewed evaluations by qualified authorities in toxicology. EPA is assembling an agency-wide database of such authoritative assessments, the Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS).
