Panels louvered

Fixed ventilation has to be weatherproof to some degree. If it were not, then a simple hole in the wall or roof would be sufficient. The normal form of fixed ventilator is the louver panel. At its simplest, this may be a number of slats of wood mounted at 45-60° in a door or wall opening, and at its most sophisticated an aerodynamically designed two- or three-bank chevron of roll-formed or extruded aluminum (Figure 28.6). [Pg.426]

For facilities susceptible to the contamination of nitroglycerin liquids and vapors, basic construction materials of wood framing, reinforced concrete, fiberglass reinforced plastic, and sandwich panels were chosen for development of architectural details incorporating lead conductive floor lining, equipment doors, personnel escape chutes and doors, ceiling and wall interfaces, interior finishes, joint sealing, door and wall louvers, wall vents, wall penetrations, and fixed windows. [Pg.69]

The Panel Bed Filter exposes a large number of sand surfaces for collecting deposits of fly ash. Louvered walls, somewhat resembling Venetian blind, hold a sand bed in a tall relatively narrow panel . Gas flows in the horizontal direction across the sand bed, and the dust in the gas deposits forming a filter cake upon tbe sand surfaces at the gas-entry face of the panel. [Pg.731]

Stress rehefs are deflned on the basis of stress analysis. Sheet metal part form features such as punches, tabs, holes, depressions, channels, louvers, etc., can be placed on panels. [Pg.157]

To determine the contribution of dry versus wet deposition, Goodwin initiated laboratory tests using synthetic rainfall of different pH values. Dry deposition was attained by setting panels in a louvered box outdoors. Rain intensities between 0 and 12 mm/h were used. This technique made it possible to vary sulfate concentration independently of pH. Rolled pure zinc panels were used for all tests. Atmospheric corrosion rates of zinc is Scandinavia, when only dry deposition was allowed, were measured to be 12 g/m / year based on an exposure period of 2.5 months. Exposure of these dry panels to artificial rainfalls with pH values of 4.5 and 3.5 decreased their corrosion rates. Only when rainfall pH was lowered to 2.5 did zinc corrosion rate increase over that seen with solely dry deposition (Fig. 2.7). [Pg.152]
