Pancaking

Our inspection method is based on an encircling Eddy current coil measuring the structural integrity of the rod, and 8 pancake coils positioned on a typical place over the rods diameter. One inspection block consists of 4 to 6 probe assemblies. [Pg.1007]

The encircling coils data are the basis for stmctural integrity analysis. At a defined threshold, detailed analysis with the pancake coils is performed, thereby defining the type of defect. [Pg.1008]

Tubular Reactors. The tubular reactor is exceUent for obtaining data for fast thermal or catalytic reactions, especiaHy for gaseous feeds. With sufficient volume or catalyst, high conversions, as would take place in a large-scale unit, are obtained conversion represents the integral value of reaction over the length of the tube. Short tubes or pancake-shaped beds are used as differential reactors to obtain instantaneous reaction rates, which can be computed directly because composition changes can be treated as differential amounts. Initial reaction rates are obtained with a fresh feed. Reaction rates at... [Pg.515]

The primary advantage of MCP is to create a large number of gas cells rapidly during mixing. These gas cells serve as nuclei for a greater expansion later in the oven. MCP also finds many uses in the products in which fast release of carbon dioxide and a low bench action are requited. Examples are pancake mixes, cookie mixes, and angel food cakes. The milling industry uses MCP in the manufacture of phosphated flour. [Pg.469]

For flat spiral (pancake) coils, in which the ratio D /Dj varies for each turn, a different value of coefficient will be obtained for each turn a weighted average based on length per turn is used. [Pg.564]

Note To make huckleberry syrup, cook berries and sugar together in a pan over medium heat. Use a ratio of sugar half the weight of the berries—for example, 1 pound berries to /2 pound sugar. When liqufied to syrup, strain. (The berries can be used over pancakes or ice cream.)... [Pg.90]

Complete wetting if 5 > 0, P > 0. In this case, droplets spread to a uniform film or pancake. [Pg.245]

Pseudo-partial wetting if 5 > 0 and P < 0. A macroscopic droplet with a finite contact angle can form on top of a flat film, while a microscopic droplet will spread to form a pancake or a diluted gas. [Pg.245]

Lead sulfide, PbS, nanoparticulate thin films having pancake-like geometry and exhibiting ID quantum confinement, as controlled by the lowest dimension of the particles, have been synthesized by cathodic electrodeposition on TTO/glass and titanium electrodes from a pH 0.62 solution containing Pb(N03)2 and Na2S203 [162]. [Pg.195]
