Leveling agents, paints

Uses Solvent for cellulose acetate, crude rubber, natural resins, nitrocellulose, vinyl resins, waxes, fats, oils, shellac, rubber, DDT, and other pesticides preparation of adipic acid and caprolactum additive in wood stains, paint, PVC paints, lacquers (to prevent blushing or improve flow), and varnish removers degreasing of metals spot remover lube oil additive in PVC adhesives to control evaporation rate leveling agent in dyeing and delustering silk. [Pg.334]

Use Organic synthesis, particularly of adipic acid and caprolactam (about 95%), polyvinyl chloride and its copolymers, and methacrylate ester polymers wood stains paint and varnish removers, spot removers degreasing of metals polishes leveling agent dyeing and delustering silk lubricating oil additive solvent for cellulosics natural and synthetic resins, waxes, fats, etc. [Pg.359]

Lomar . [Henkel/Emery Henkel-Nopco] NafAdialene sulfonate condensates emulsifier, leveling agent, dispersant suspending agent stabilizer for emulsion polymerization, dyestuff mfg., ceramics, paint paper, rubber, agric. formulations. [Pg.212]

Merpol . (DuPont] EO condensate wetting agent, detegent, penetrant, emulsifier, leveling agent, dye assistant, an-tistat, emulsifie, stabilizer to texdfe, paper, paints, inks, medicinal ointments, andperspirants, cosmetics. [Pg.228]

Methylbenzyl alcohol can be used like benzyl alcohol, and can be employed advantageously in stoving enamels. In cellulose nitrate and acetyl cellulose lacquers methylbenzyl alcohol helps to improve flow and film formation and prevents blushing at relatively high atmospheric humidity levels. It has also proved to be a useful additive in paint-removal agents on account of its dissolution properties and long evaporation time. The solvency of methylbenzyl alcohol for colorants is similar to that of benzyl alcohol. [Pg.357]

Hexyl acetate [142-92-7] has a good solvency for resins, polymers, cellulose derivatives, fats, and oils. Cellulose acetate is insoluble. Small amounts of hexyl acetate are used as a leveling agent in paints. [Pg.364]
