Packaging forms

The FDA has passed a rule (21 CFR 211.132) (3) requiring the use of tamper-evident packaging on all over-the-counter (OTC) dmgs and some cosmetics (qv), while ignoring other products they regulate (2). Table 1 offers examples of such packaging forms.

Make sure your resume package forms a presentation that you re pleased with and can he proud to show and distribute to potential employers. Remember, the appearance of your resume package says a lot about you and will most likely play a major role in creating a positive (or negative) first impression with an employer.

Non-carbonated RTD beverages have shown some considerable growth in recent years mainly because of the availability of aseptic packaging forms. Still drinks that rely on chemical preservation or hot-pack/in-pack pasteurisation suffer from a number of potential problems, including rapid flavour and colour deterioration.

Packaging in the post-World War II period benefited immensely from the commercialization of plastics, which were little known or used in prior years. Since then, the packaging industry has openly adopted plastics as a powerful new tool in the development of new packaging forms and functions. 

NOTE 1 Explosive substances or mixtures in packaged form and articles may be classified under divisions 1.1 to 1.6 and, for some regulatory purposes, are further subdivided into compatibility groups A to S to distinguish technical requirements (see UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Model Regulations, Chapter 2.1).
