Types and Forms of Plastics Packaging

There are different types of plastics packaging used in different applications. 

These can be either (a) common film structures (which can be either in the common monolayer or in series of multilayered-coextruded film types) or, (b) hybrids (hybrid structures can be of plastic-to-metal or plastic-to-paper type, i.e., multilayer films with paper and with metal foils, protective coating for metals, and so on). 

Plastic films are produced for their use either in packaging (which are either for food or non food, or for industrial/agricultural) or non-packaging applications. 

Within these, food packaging applications will be our main interest.
